The English centre-back has continued to impress for Crystal Palace this season a previous transfer to Liverpool collapsing. As his deal due to run out in the summer, January is the London club's final opportunity to secure a transfer fee for their captain. The experienced Germany shot-stopper is now as the third option at Barça following the manager Hansi Flick. After lost his place and had an operation, a winter exit looks increasingly likely.
